Here is a follow up about Acid Reflux and using Zypan

Zypan combines pancreatin, pepsin, and betaine hydrochloride to which helps with the digestion system.  Rather than using anti-acids which hinder your digestive system.  The use of anti-acids can cause unwanted side effects.  Which can also produce more acid in the stomach as the body needs the acid to digest the food.

Zypan provides support to the gastrointestinal helping to balance pH which also helps promote a health gastrointestinal tract.  Zypan helps the digestive system to process foods by adding enzymes to promote healthy digestive systems.  The fatty acids added are to help coat the pancreatin in order that the digesting occurs in the correct area of the digestive system.  The product is also, Gluten Free.

I only take Zypan when I am having a problem with heart burn or an acid reflux uncomfortable preference.  Recommended dosage is two pills.  Don’t chew as its very yucky.  Even doesn’t smell good.  But it does work.  I can take the pill after eating or wait a few hours after eating.  The pill works in about 30 minutes from the time that swallow it, however is not completely gone with in that time frame.  I can feel it working and I am able to go to sleep shortly after taking two Zypan pills.

I have suffered with Acid Reflux for many years now.  Usually the problem is not too bad and I only have to sleep elevated once in a while.  However lately have have been having a lot of problems with Acid Reflux.

I love hot peppers and hot spicy foods.  However these types of foods seem to increase the acid reflux problem.  I have noticed that I have less problems as I avoid eating specific types of foods.

The problem that I have with Acid Reflux is that at times I feel like I am about to drown as I have a feeling in my throat which is most uncomfortable.  Additionally I experience rather painful heart burn.

I have tried using over the counter anti-acids however these do not seem to really help.  Most of them have too much sugar in them and are too sweet.

From what I have read on the internet about using baking soda to relieve Acid Reflux this does not seem to be a good method to use as I don’t need to neutralize the acid in my stomach.  The purpose of the acid in my stomach is to digest food and if I neutralize the acid my body will only produce more and I may increase the problem by treating the acid reflux discomfort with baking soda.

I have found that if I use a digestive enzyme with the foods I eat I often fell less no Acid Reflux problems.  I do not want to take a drug to resolve the acid reflux problem as I believe in resolving the problem in a natural way rather than applying a bandage to mask or cover up the problem.

I am more interested in a long term health solution.  Eating more healthy, eating less processed foods.  I have found myself feeling healthier as I eat and drink foods that are good for my body.

The recommendation that was given to me to help with Acid Reflux is to drink warm water when I get up in the morning and then to jump up and down to encourage the stomach to move back down.  Also to massage the area just below the ribcage and move it down towards the right hip.  Which purpose is to help move the stomach down and to strengthen the shut off mechanism to use a more holistic approach to over coming Acid Reflux rather than resulting in surgery.

I have been using the massage of the area below the rib cage and to use a downward motion to wards the right hip which seems to be helping.  I need to also try the warm water trick to see if this will achieve the desired result.

 

Yes I have heard this too.  And have actually believed it as it makes sense.

According to the USDA, HFCS consists of 24% water, and the rest sugars. The most widely used varieties of high-fructose corn syrup are:  HFCS 55 (mostly used in soft drinks), approximately 55% fructose and 42% glucose; and HFCS 42 (used in beverages, processed foods, cereals and baked goods), approximately 42% fructose and 53% glucose.  HFCS-90, approximately 90% fructose and 10% glucose, is used in small quantities for specialty applications, but primarily is used to blend with HFCS 42 to make HFCS 55.

In the U.S., HFCS is among the sweeteners that have primarily replaced sucrose (table sugar) in the food industry.  Factors for this include governmental production quotas of domestic sugar, subsidies of U.S. corn, and an import tariff on foreign sugar; all of which combine to raise the price of sucrose to levels above those of the rest of the world, making HFCS less costly for many sweetener applications.

Critics of the extensive use of HFCS in food sweetening argue that the highly processed substance is more harmful to humans than regular sugar, contributing to weight gain by affecting normal appetite functions , and that in some foods HFCS may be a source of mercury, a known neurotoxin.

The Corn Refiners Association disputes these claims and maintains that HFCS is comparable to table sugar. Studies by the American Medical Association suggest “it appears unlikely that HFCS contributes more to obesity or other conditions than sucrose”, but welcome further independent research on the subject. Further reviews in the clinical literature have disputed the links between HFCS and obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome,and concluded that HFCS is no different from any other sugar in relationship to these diseases.

Wither on not High Fructose corn syrup is bad for us is not as important is the high consumption of sugar that occurs from its use.  Read the article about High-fructose corn syrup – Yes there may not be direct evidence aganst HFCS but it does make it so that we consume more sugar than is recommended by the American Heart Association.

Our bodies do not need us to eat sweets.  Our body will create the amount of sugar it needs for it to function.  We can survive without eating any sugar.  (unless you are diabetic, or suffer from some other disease related to sugar).

We all know though that — A high daily consumption of Sugar is bad for your health.
